1/ Salut The Cotton Soeterboek Band ! Quel est votre line up et d'où venez vous ?

Salut pavillon666, c'est Alan Cotton qui te parle et je suis guitariste dans The Cotton Soeterboek Band. Le line up actuel est Robert Soeterboek-chants, le bassiste Wim den Boer, le batteur Wilfried Broekman et moi-même à la guitare. Le groupe a demarré avec que des américains et un seul membre allemand, Robert. C'est maintenant l'inverse avec tous allemands et un américain.

2/ votre premier album "twisted" est un très bon album de "hard rock", quelles sont vos influences? Peut-être whitesnake et deep purple, n'est pas?

Merci pour tes gentils mots concernant l'album. Ouai, nous adorons Deep purple et Whitesnake. Il y a trop de groupe qui nous ont influencé, Zeppelin, Skynyrd, Allman Bros, Bad Company. A peu près tous les groupes classiques du genre.

3/ Comment s'est déroulé l'enregistrement, en etes vous satisfaits, avez vous deja des retours ?

Eh bien, j'avais au départ pensé à créer un nouveau groupe et en même temps quelqu'un m'a recommandé Robert. Je l'ai appelé et peu de temps apres nous avons commencé à écrire ensemble. Nous avons sortis un EP en 2006 et
il nous a fallu un certain temps pour trouver le bon producteur pour "Twisted". Heureusement, nous
avons trouvé Robert Selvaggio qui a travaillé avec ceux de Creed to Jewel. Bobby est vraiment une grande personne et a immédiatement fait ce que nous attendions. Il va d'ailleurs être sur le prochain album avec nous. Les chroniques ont toutes été très positives, mais les e-mails
des fans sont les meilleurs. Venant de jeunes gens qui écoutent du hard rock pour la premiere fois à des personnes qui ont grandi avec toutes les classiques du genre.

4/ Avec cet album, y a t il un concept derrière la musique?

Le concept était juste de faire un album que nous aimions, en esperant que les gens adhéreront. Nous n'avons pas à suivre les tendances. Il suffit de faire un bon album de Rock and Roll.

5/ quels sont vos futures projets ? Des concerts en europe?

Les plans actuels sont de terminer l'écriture pour le second album, puis de tourner en Europe et USA.
Nous nous ferons un plaisir de jouer en France et je dois
dire que l'accueil que nous avons eu des français est
dingue ! De grands fans de rock chez vous, et grâce à des sites comme le vôtre, nous l'espérons, nous pourrons accéder à plusieurs d'entre eux.

6/ Je pense que vous pourrez obtenir un grand contrat avec une major, peux tu m'en dire plus sur votre label actuel ?

Nous avons sorti notre Ep en 2006, et après cela, nous avons eu plusieures offres de petits labels. Nous avons voul rester un peu loin des labels qui tentent de nous pousser dans une direction ou une autre. Caf Fine Records est en fait une entreprise que j'ai crée avec Robert. Nous avons recemment signé un contrat de distribution, ce qui facilitera à exporter notre album à travers le monde. Pour le second album, nous déciderons si nous devons signer sur un plus gros label, ou tout simplement continuer notre petite entreprise.


7/ Quels genres de groupes ecoutes tu actuellement? Est ce que tu connais quelques groupes francais ?

J'aime l'album des Black Crowes qui est sorti il y a un moment, et le nouveau Whitesnake. Je n'ai pas beaucoup de temps libre pour écouter de la musique. Avec la promotion de notre album, le temps que je met pour ecrire le second album, et les contrats d'affaire liés au groupe. Je sais qu'il y a plein de grands groupes en françe maintenant.

1. hello The Cotton Soeterboek Band ! what is your actual line up and where
do you come from ?

Hello Pavillon 666, this is Alan Cotton here and I'm the guitarist
with the Cotton Soeterboek Band. The line up right now is Robert
Soeterboek-vocals, bassist Wim den Boer, drummer Wilfried Broekman and
myself on guitar. The band started out with all Americans and one
Dutch member, Robert. It's now all Dutch members and one American.

2. your first album "twisted" is a beautiful piece of "hard rock", what are
your influences ? maybe whitesnake and deep purple, isn't it ?

Thank you for the kind words about the album. Yeah, we love Deep
Purple and Whitesnake. There are so many bands that influenced us,
Zeppelin, Skynyrd, Allman Bros, Bad Company. Pretty much all the
classic bands.

3. How did the recording occur? Are you satisfies by it? Have you got echoes
about the album?

Well, I had started thinking about putting a new band together and
somebody had recommended Robert to me. I gave him a call and soon
after that we started writing together. We put an EP out in 2006 and
it took us a while to find the right producer for Twisted. Luckily, we
ended up with Robert Selvaggio who has worked with every one from
Creed to Jewel. Bobby is really such a great person and immediately
got what we were all about. He is also going to be producing the next
album with us. The reviews have all been very positive, but the emails
from fans are the best. From young people just listening to hard rock
music for the first to people who grew up with all the classic bands.

4. About this album, what is the "concept" behind the music ?

The concept was just to make a record of music we loved and hopefully
people would pick up on that. We didn't set out to follow any trends.
Just make a good Rock and Roll album.

5. Wich are your projects to come ( after all promos of this record )?
Envisaged live-shows in France or Europe ?

The plans right now are to finish writing the second album and then
tour Europe and the US. We would love to play in France and I have to
say the response we have gotten from the people of France has been
amazing! Great rock fans there and thanks to sites like yours, we hope
to reach more of them.

6. i think you could to have a big deal with a major label, Can you tell me
a little word on your current label ?

We put out an EP in 2006, and after that we got some offers from
smaller labels. What we wanted to stay away from was labels really
trying to push us in any one direction. Caf Fine Records is actually a
company Robert and I started together. We recently signed a
distribution deal, making the album available in record stores
worldwide. For the second album, we will have to decide if we want to
sign with a larger label or just continue growing our company.

7/ What kinds of bands you currently listening to? do you know some french
metal rock bands?

I like the Black Crowes album that came out a while ago, and the new
Whitesnake. I don't have much free time to listen to music. Right now
with the promotion of our album, most of my time is spent trying to
write the second album or dealing with music business. I know there
are a lot of great metal bands coming out of France right now.
