01) Bonjour les ARGENT DAWN, pouvez-vous nous présenter le line-up et votre parcours musical ?

Bonjour ! Oui, nous sommes :
Jamie Harrison - Chanteur
Jake Lawrence - Guitariste
Tom Scobie - Guitariste
Grant Anthony - Bassiste
James Burke - Batteur
Chacun d'entre nous a des goûts différents en musique, mais quand il s'agit de jouer ensemble du Death Metal, nous sommes tous d'accord sur comment nous voulons sonner et sur quelle direction prendre. En tant que groupe, nous sommes influencés par des combos comme Decapitated, Behemoth, Aborted et The Black Dahlia Murder, mais nous ne voulons pas n'être qu'une autre version d'eux. Donc nous essayons et apportons des aspects d'autres styles dans notre musique, comme le côté heavy des groupes de métal moderne, comme Whitechapel ou Despised Icon, mais aussi des parties plus mélodiques. De ce côté, nous sommes influencés par des groupes comme Opeth.

02) "A Blank Eternity" frappe fort et bien pour un début, êtes-vous pleinement satisfaits de son enregistrement et de sa production ?

Nous sommes certainement heureux du côté "punchy" de la production de l'album, il sonne très agressif. Cependant, la prochaine fois, nous essayereons pour un son plus heavy et plus naturel, nous trouvons que sur certaines parties, ça sonne peut-être un peu trop sur-produit. Nous passerons définitivement plus de temps en studio pour notre prochaine sortie pour que tous nos sons soient bons. Nous voulons être sûrs que tout est précis, mais aussi le plus naturel possible.

03) Après cette sortie, quels sont vos projets immédiats (concerts, clips...) ?

Eh bien, nous voulons sortir de chez nous et aller tourner là où nous ne sommes jamais allés avant. Cela signifie, avec de la chance, une longue tournée en Europe. Ensuite, retour au studio pour enregistrer le successeur de "A Blank Eternity". Nous avons déjà plusieurs nouvelles chansons de prêtes et on va sûrement continuer à en écrire jusqu'à ce qu'on en soit content et que l'on ait un album rempli de super titres !

04) Quels groupes actuels écoutez-vous le plus en ce moment ?

En ce moment, nous sommes tous sur le dernier Black Dahlia Murder et sur les CD's de Kronos. Aussi Opeth, Aborted, Decapitated, parmi tant d'autres.

05) Connaissez-vous des formations Françaises de métal, lesquelles ?

Nous n'en connaissons pas vraiment personnellement, nous avons joué avec the Bridal Procession il y a déjà un moment. Plusieurs d'entre nous sommes très fans de Kronos, leur dernier album "The Hellenic Terror" est tout le temps dans le lecteur CD !

06) Pourquoi avoir choisi le chemin du death-métal pour vous exprimer ?

Nous sommes tous fans de ce style depuis des années et nous avons grandis en écoutant des groupes de Death Metal, on essayait d'apprendre leurs riffs sur nos instruments. Donc nous essayons de garder cet esprit en en jouant nous-même et en tentant d'apporter quelque chose de nouveau sur la table.

07) Comment se porte la scène extrème dans votre pays, vous-y sentez vous à l'aise ?

Il y a pas mal de bons groupes qui viennent du Royaume-Uni et ils ont pas mal de succès, ce qui est super ! Par exemple, nos potes Trigger the Bloodshed et Bleed From Within, qui sont sur le même label que nous. Et aussi les nouveaux groupes sur Earache, comme Ignominious Incarceration et The Boy Will Drown. Il y a beaucoup trop de groupes de deathcore au Royaume-Uni, on les compte à la pelle, mais ça ne veut pas dire qu'il n'y en a pas de bons ! Je pense que nous sommes à notre place. Notre musique n'est pas "trop" Death, style qui ne plaît qu'à un petit public, mais nous ne sommes pas non plus trop "Deathcore", donc pas mélangés avec tous les groupes existants. Nous avons un peu le meilleur de ces deux univers !

08) Avec quels groupes aimeriez-vous partir en tournée ?

Je pense que les groupes qui portent vraiment le drapeau de Death Metal en ce moment sont Decapitated et The Black Dahlia Murder, donc une tournée avec un de ces deux groupes serait incroyable !

09) Vous verra-t-on bientôt sur scène en France ?

Oui, nous esperons préparer tout ça dans les mois à venir, nous sommes impatients ! Nous savons que pas mal de groupes sont venus chez vous et ont dit que c'était incroyable. Pas seulement pour le public, mais surtout car les groupes sont bien mieux traités là-bas qu'au Royaume-Uni.

Hi, yeah we are:

Each one of us has pretty different tastes in music but when we come
together to play Death Metal were all in agreement to what we want to sound
like and the direction we want to take. As a group were influenced by bands
such as Decapitated, Behemoth, Aborted and The Black Dahlia Murder but we
don't just want to be another version of those bands so we try and bring
aspects from other genres into our music as well, such as the pure
heavy-ness of Modern metal bands like Whitechapel or Despised Icon as well
as some of the more melodic sections we have from which we draw influence
from bands like Opeth.

02) "A Blank Eternity" strikes very hard for a first album, are you
satisfied by the recording and the production ?

Were certainly pleased with how Punchy the production is and its very
unrelenting and aggressive sounding, but maybe next time we would try and go
for a heavyier and more natural sound, as we feel there are some places
where it sounds maybe a little over produced. We'll definitely spend more
time in the studio for our next release getting all the sounds just right
and making sure everything is as tight as possible so not as much editing is
needed and therefore giving it a more natural sound.

03) After this release, what are your next projects ? (concerts, videos ?)

Well next up we want to go out and tour places where we haven't been before,
which means hopefully a pretty extensive European tour as we are still to
venture over the Channel, then head back into the studio to record our
follow up to "A Blank Eternity". We already have several new songs down and
were going to continue to write more and more until were happy we have an
Album full of Awesome tracks!

04) What are the current bands that you listen to ?

At the moment Were all about the latest Black Dahlia Murder and Kronos CD's
as well as Opeth, Aborted and Decapitated amongst too many others to name.

05) Do you know any French metal bands ?

We don't really know any Personally, we played The Bridal Procession a while
back and a few of us are really into a band called Kronos, their latest cd
"the Hellenic Terror" is always in the cd player!

06) Why did you chose the path of death metal to express yourself ?

We have all been into this style for years and grew up listening to Death
Metal bands and learning their riffs on out instruments so what better way
than to keep the spirit alive than by playing it ourselves and trying to
bring something new to the table

07) How is the extreme scene in your country ? Do you feel that you fit in ?

There are some good bands coming out of the UK and they are getting a lot of
success which is great to see like our label mates trigger the Bloodshed and
Bleed From Within and also some of the new Earache bands like Ignominious
incarceration and The Boy Will Drown. However there are far to many paint by
numbers Death-core bands saturating the UK but thats not to say there aren't
any good ones! I think we fit in over here as were not too over the top
death metal to only appeal to a very small audience and were not Death-core
enough to really get lumped in with them either so we kind of have the best
of both worlds.

08) What bands would you like to share a tour with ?

I think the bands really flying the flag for Death Metal at the moment have
to be Decapitated and The Black Dahlia Murder so a tour with either of those
bands would be incredible!

09) Can we expect to see you guys in France for a few gigs ?

Yes were hoping to get over in the next few months and we cant wait, we know
many bands that have been over and have said it was incredible much better
than UK not only in the audiences but how bands are treated over there
compared to here in the UK.
