<p>MERCREDI 24 Juillet</p> <p> </p> <p>Ce mercredi 24 Juillet on n’échappera pas à de violents orages dès 12heures, c’est le déluge sur Tolmin jusqu’à 18heures30 environ. Les Finlandais débarquent sur la grande scène les corps paints de rouge et de noir avec une folle envie d’en découdre avec un public en nombre qui attends de pied ferme de recevoir le souffle de leur « battle métal ». Et ça marche, le Turisas 13 à l’image de leur nouvel album à paraitre en Août prochain, est très comment dire, « catchy ». Turisas mélange avec bonheur du power, du black-metal et du folk pour nous proposer des compositions accrocheuses surtout en live avec un impact visuel très fort. Le show donné au Metaldays fut donc bien bon avec des envois imparables, alors, « Stand Up And Fight » ! Avec un nom pareil on savait à quoi s’en tenir évidemment. Derrière ce nom de groupe se cache James Rivera chanteur légendaire du groupe texan HELSTAR qui nous montre son amour pour le métal classique de Black Sabbath et Judas Priest sous la forme d’un tribute band. Alors oui, le frontman tient la route, mais les jeunes musiciens qui l’accompagnent se cherchent un peu. C’est le festival de lights, le festival des contretemps, des compositions alambiquées faites de métal extrême et de hardcore ultime. Quelle puissance de feu, quelle présence scénique, quelle brutalité dans les distorsions, je savoure et mes neurones n’en peuvent plus de jouissances ultimes. Guitares à huit cordes au son unique, frontman toujours au bord de la rupture, structures complexes proposant une certaine polyrythmie, c’est un festival de métal unique repoussant sans cesse les limites du prog et de l’expérimental qui nous est jeté en pâture, le « djent » comme on l’appelle maintenant. Et vous savez quoi, on aime tout simplement il n’y a pas photo. Si en fait, celles que je vous propose ci-dessous. C’est le genre de groupe que tout amateur éclairé de métal extrême se doit d’aller voir en live même si le concert est loin de chez lui. On se déplace donc pour apprécier ce death/grind mâtiné de hardcore où la technicité ne bouscule pas l’efficacité dans le style. En live John Gallagher, Sean Beasley et Trey Williams nous proposent les compositions variées issues de leurs albums qui ont la particularité de ne pas se ressembler au final, et dans le genre cela se remarque forcément. Dying Fetus c’est des changements de rythme incessants, batterie folle donc, une basse qui vous remonte les boyaux au cerveau, et ces riffs lame de rasoir prêts à vous découper la matière grise à chaque instant si vous n’y prenez garde. Avec sept albums sous le bras, ces habitués des émissions télévisées ravissent un public aux anges qui boit les paroles du quintette un briquet à la main. C’est gentil, bien rythmé juste ce qu’il faut pour être labellisé métal et donner de petits frissons à une assistance bercée par des compositions bien « soft ». Mais au-delà de ces considérations peu flatteuses que vaut aujourd’hui le groupe ? Avec son dernier opus en date il a essayé de revenir à des titres plus directs mais ce n’est pas gagné sur scène, même les ballades ne font plus l’effet escompté. Bref le groupe semble maintenant en manque d’inspiration, et cela se sent. Le brouillard se lève soudain au fond le la scène et l’univers mystérieux des Norvégiens apparait devant nous. Pour beaucoup, TAAKE est un groupe sulfureux aux nombreuses polémiques. Mais n’oublions pas qu’il est tout d’abord un groupe excellent musicalement parlant et fait figure de classique du black-métal Norvégien même si Hoest s’enveloppe durant le show du drapeau de son pays d’origine. Taake sur scène possède un son remarquable dans ses envois constitués maintenant de black des 90’s enrichi, sans aller trop loin, de parties plus black’ n’roll. L’ambiance est au rendez-vous on se croirait à Bergen berceau de Taake, le voyage dans les sombres forêts mystérieuses est épique et l’on adhère forcément à cette musique bien interprétée et prenante.
